Liquid Newsroom - Making A Difference. A Manifesto

Prior to finding a perfect business model I would like to summarize some key ideas of the Liquid Newsroom Project once more:

• Liquid Newsroom is first a concept model for a specific type of (news) content representation and collaboration. The concept model needs a technical platform to come into existence. (curative journalism)
• Collaboration: the content is triggered by events and interest of the people and not by purpose of keeping a company alive. (triggers initiates its core process | journalism as a process)
• It is the task of any society to protect access to vital functions in the interest of its members. In German "Daseinsfürsorge". The free flow of news is essential. Free flow requires at least one route of news distribution to be free of charge.  (news as vital function)
• The Liquid Newsroom Project explores the virtualization of corporate structure as an answer to today's problems: "cooperation" in context of today's challenges expects people to cross (territorial) boundaries of language, national and corporate interests. Boundaries create inefficiencies of how we can make use of our talents and gifts.  (contextual adaptiveness)
• The very essence of the Internet was to guarantee free flow of communication between "nodes" and to distribute news & information to any participating node even if one route fails. The social web now takes on the role of the nodes (=machines). The Liquid Newsroom is a new instance of the old core idea of the Internet but in a special context: news. And ... (freedom of press)
• The Liquid Newsroom is one step towards a "Liquid News Network" (LNN) (collaborative journalism). We already have many really exciting media and news related startups. It is also worth to explore how all these startups together add value to the greater picture of a News3.0 landscape.
• It is also very clear that to sustain the work and progress to develop a Liquid Newsroom platform we will need a commercial model to operate the platform, which takes care of what was written before. (value of journalism)

The Manifesto will be continued in parallel to the process of concept development.
