NHK :: TEPCO Tokyo Electric Power Company issued a report to the government on Monday morning on the Fukushima unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant in northeastern Japan. The plant was damaged in Friday's earthquake.
The company says radiation levels on Monday morning measured 751.2 µSv/h (microsieverts per hour) near the front gate and 650 µSv/h at the northern part of the plant. Radiation levels above 500 µSv/h must be reported to the government by law as an emergency measure. Cause unknown.
751.2 µSv/h is a dosage similar to a stomach x-ray, Japans' nuclear authorities said.
A comparison: same place March 12
MP6 (at the main gate) - 0.07µSv/h (04:00 am) => 3.25 µSv/h (04:40 pm)
