CNN iReport :: The years leading to the current protests in Syria have been exceedingly difficult for one ordinary Syrian family. Enduring long periods of torture, isolation and depression have been a daily occurrence for this seemingly-average family of five. Their home is in a community located in north-eastern Syria, where the children -- two young boys and a daughter -- happily play with their friends unaware of the hardships their parents have endured.
[Sham:] I believe it will be better in Syria some day, but I fear it will be much worse before it gets better.
