paidContent :: E-reader usage is growing beyond a group of early adopters, but new stats suggest that consumers are also increasingly resistant to buying an e-reader. A study presented by book marketing firm Verso Advertising at Digital Book World last week finds that 15.8% of book buyers already own an e-reader—that figure has doubled since 2010. But 51.8% of book buyers say they are “not at all likely” to purchase one in the next 12 months. That is up from 40% in 2009.
Verso Advertising conducted the survey Nov 30, 2011 to Dec 4, 2011. Pool: 130 million internet users across 5,400 websites; Answers from 2,200 respondents were analysed.
