Gannett Blog :: In one of his first lengthy memos to staff, new USA Today Publisher Larry Kramer has expressed strong support for a reorganization of the Sports Department that resulted in layoffs of several veteran journalists on Wednesday. Kramer's remarks are significant because staff in other departments are looking for signs that a similar top-to-bottom reorganization might be extended beyond sports.
