Leveson hears proposal for press regulator backed by legislation

Guardian :: One of Britain's top civil barristers has outlined detailed proposals for a reformed press regulator backed by legislation. Hugh Tomlinson QC, who has represented high-profile figures such as Ryan Giggs in media law battles, said that the privacy of individuals was "simply not protected" unless the new press regulator was backed up by legislation.
