Meredith Vieira, NBC: If you haven't heard of Berners-Lee, we haven't either

The laugh is always on the loser.

International Digital Times :: During NBC's Olympic opening ceremony coverage, Meredith Vieira voiced words that are likely to haunt her for years to come, bringing on a barrage of heckling tweets within the online community. Just moments after the coverage began, Vieira sheepishly admitted that (corrected quote, watch the clip below around 00:23:) "if you haven't heard of him (Tim Berners-Lee) we haven't either".
