Twitter alerts U.S. Geological Survey to Philippines earthquake

Bloomberg :: Twitter, the microblogging service that lets more than 140 million users send short messages on everything from the mundane to the life-altering, tipped off the U.S. Geological Survey to the 7.6-magnitude earthquake that hit near the coast of the Philippines.
