Gawker’s real business problem: It’s too small for the modern media economy

Gawker has a problem, and it’s not just its controversial stories that CEO Nick Denton admits take its toll in the form of a “Gawker tax.” It’s not as big or fast-growing as its VC-addled competitors like BuzzFeed or Vox Media.
