I set up this blog to experiment with the Liquid Newsroom Platform as a prototype of how I think news will and can be produced in the near future. If news break, information explodes within minutes, hours and days. How to make sense of all that sometimes heavily redundant information as a reader? - Curation is one method to assist readers in finding the delta between stories and to help them navigate.
The Liquid Newsroom uses its "newsroom" module to help editors and journalists to manage large information streams, to select stories of interest and to publish the information as summary with reference to the original source, instantly and directly to all distribution channnels selected: web/blog, and of course social networks like Twitter and Facebook.
How is my blog organized?
At the very core of nextlevelofnews.com blog you will find a 24/7 hours stream of news from media outlets, news portals or blogs in the blogosphere. The selection of which news will become part of the news stream is my decision. The content is always from other authors I found worth to read although to publish references doesn't necessarily mean that I support, what they write. News3.0 relies on the interaction of readers, authors and therefore needs new ways to encourage participation and to foster engagement.
The Liquid Newsroom platform is currently in private Alpha. After this last test it will enter into privat Beta. A selected group of people will receive an invitation to test the first release of the platform.
