China keeps up block on Bloomberg website

CNN :: Bloomberg's news website remains blocked by China's state censors a full month after it detailed the riches amassed by the family of Xi Jinping, the man who is expected to be the country's next president. Although periodic outages of foreign media websites in China are common, the month-long total blackout of Bloomberg is an unusually harsh response.

Analyst discusses possible Amazon smartphone on Bloomberg TV

Bloomberg TV :: July 6 (Bloomberg) -- Victor Anthony, an analyst at Topeka Capital Markets Inc. for the media and Internet sector, talks about a possible Amazon.com Inc. smartphone. Amazon.com is developing a device together with Foxconn that would vie with Apple Inc.'s iPhone and handheld devices that run Google Inc.'s Android operation system, two people with knowledge of the matter said. Anthony speaks with Emily Chang on Bloomberg Television's "Bloomberg West."

"I do think it's the next logical step for Amazon to follow," he said during the interview, but he also added that he doesn't believe it is to compete with "Apple, Nokia or REM" and the like but "to increase the number of Amazon shop touchpoints."

Bloomberg Businessweek eyes push into UK market

Press Gazette :: Bloomberg Businessweek has signalled its intention to make greater inroads into the UK market and become a “real global brand” by increasing its circulation in Europe and Asia by 80,000 copies a week.
