Fun gamification or how do you gamify your business?

VatorNews :: In modern culture, games are everywhere we look; not just video games. Recently. the top movie in the theatre was the “The Hunger Games." The most popular TV show is “Game of Thrones” and the most watched entertainment on television on an annual basis is the Super Bowl game and skill-based game shows like American Idol. Games are everywhere. So it’s no wonder the concept of gamification has really taken off over the last few years.

It’s a pretty easy phenomenon to understand because games are essentially about creating fun playful experiences -- whether that means creating excitement, intrigue, a smile, a laugh or even fear. We as humans all want to feel something.

One of the company’s early hits came in 2007, when it created a gamified website for NBC’s The Office. The power of game mechanics to invest people in websites, shows, teams, companies and other properties is what Paharia says has fueled the rise of his company and others like it. But he says Bunchball’s road to success was rocky at first.

Fanplayr brings gamification to email marketing

Portfolio :: The gamification startup Fanplayr recently announced that it will be offering email-marketing company Constant Contact clients the ability to set up game features in their email-marketing campaigns in less than 20 minutes, with no IT expertise required. A few months ago, Constant Contact penned a similar integration deal with Magmito, which lets businesses create mobile apps.
