Journatic sheds staff: 'Restructuring'

The Outsider :: Journatic has laid off a number of full-time employees this weekend according to one of the employees let go. Exactly how many people have been cut remains uncertain. The reason given was that the workload has decreased significantly and the company is restructuring.

Chicago Tribune staff: We're frustrated and concerned about Journatic connection

Jim Romenesko :: Eighty-eight Chicago Tribune staffers have written to editor Gerould Kern about their “deep frustration and concern in the newsroom over the Tribune’s continued relationship with Journatic,” which they say “threatens to jeopardize our credibility.”

Journatic memo and call to staff: ‘Do not lie about your name’

Poynter :: In a memo sent to Journatic staff Saturday morning, Amanda Smith-Teutsch, the outsourcing company’s print editorial director, addressed the fallout from the Chicago Tribune’s discovery that writer Luke Campbell had plagiarized a story. The Tribune, a Journatic investor, announced Friday night that it would suspend work with the company for its TribLocal content.
